Most everyone has been shocked by the tragic fires in Victoria. Watching the news coverage, it has been hard to think of anything else. It is easy to feel helpless, but there are things we can all do to help.
- Give blood. Find your nearest Red Cross Centre and make an appointment. Blood donations help burn victims.
- Donate a quilt. Many people have nothing at all left. Think how wonderful they will feel wrapped in a quilt made with love. They don't have to be fancy quilts, scrappy ones look great! Just get out your machines, cut up squares and start sewing what you can. Maybe you have some UFO's that if you finish will bring a bit of joy into someone's life. You can drop them off at Country Quilt Co and we'll ensure they're distributed to people in need in the affected areas.
- Say a prayer for the victims of this terrible firestorm.
- Help raise funds by purchasing the special patterns and kits designed by Janet Rowe of Wildcraft Farm. All the proceeds will be donated to the Bush Fire Appeal. Featuring Angels the kits are available online and at the Country Quilt Co. shop in North Ipswich.
